Finite Element Simulations of the CFRP Retrofitted Hollow Square Columns

ABSTRACT This article describes the finite element analysis of concrete columns with a hollow square reinforced which restricted Carbon-Fiber-Reinforced polymer (CFRP) tube. In this study, about sixteen core were investigated. These classified into four sets. The set number one was reference involved unconfined traditional steel helices and longitudinal bars. 2nd category have similar configuration as except that these outwardly by CFRP tube inwardly Finally, 4th do not reinforcement where they produced only an outer inner exposed to various loading conditions: concentric, eccentric (22 44) mm, bendings' points. It investigated confinement faintly improved columns’ strength. Moreover, use in section led improve structural performance ductility.
